Game Concept
In this game, players automatically assume the character of the governor of the city with a counselor at their aid in running the city. The goal of the game is to grow a small city into a great civilization. To achieve this, players must try to understand the needs of their people to achieve prosperous development. Since no one can survive without food, players have to build a farm to ensure a stable food supply and guarantee an affluent life for citizens.
Rise of Kingdoms is a building game that allows players to construct different structures, manage space within the city, and design an attractive layout. There is more to the game than your city, players must take responsibility for citizens outside the city wall and ensure they are always safe. Therefore, to keep everyone safe, training troops is the best way to prevent further altercations with barbarians in the future. One interesting thing about the game is that all activities are automatically programmed and all you’ve got to do is assume the role and take charge.
Entrust your troop in the hands of an outstanding commander for greater victory. Depending on the player’s territory choice, you will meet a “starting commander” in the tavern; a place where commanders can be discovered and recruited. Each territory has its unique starting commander, special unit, and city army title. The starting commander for Egypt, Rome, Germany, and Britain are Imhotep, Scipio Africanus, Hermann, and Boudica respectively. With these commanders, players can eliminate several barbarians and keep civilians out of danger.
Players will also get to discover new commanders as the game progresses. Each commander has a talent tree and receives talent points that can be put into the tree whenever they level up. Talent points can be assigned based on each commander’s unique traits to guide them along different paths of development. The cool path is that everything can be reset with items. They also possess a set of 4 skills that can be upgraded by collecting commander sculptures. The commander’s skills can also be upgraded by exchanging Universal sculptures for sculptures of any commander.
Transcend strategically from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age and discover new possibilities as you progress in time. In the Bronze Age, players can build stables to train horsemen and head to the academy to research new technologies. There are different structures within the city and new ones get added when you reach specific levels and enter into new ages. Some of the structures include Tavern, City Hall, Scout Camp, Farm, Barracks, Hospital, Storehouse, Alliance Center, Builder’s Hut, and Lumber Mill among others.
Each structure has unique functions which add to the overall city development. The City Hall is the heart of civilization and key to the city; the Storehouse protects resources; the Tavern introduces players to commanders that can help write history; the Barracks maintain elite forces; the Scout Camp houses the city scouts who are willing to venture into mysterious fogs and bases; the Farm aids food production; the Alliance Center help finds alliances to join and conquer lands; and Hospital is the place for medical advice, prognosis, and healing.
There are quests with daily objectives that must be achieved to earn rewards in the game.
