Pokemon like games

It's about that time of year again

I like pokemon games pokemon haters out in droves telling me I shouldn't like them so I ask the masses what games I should play.

Enjoyed - cassette beasts lil rpg heavy but aesthetics were fantastic - nexomon slowly working my way through them the first one started off enjoyable enough but kinda lacked that thing to keep me playing

Don't want - giant JRPG - super dense RPG - non turn based - rom hacks

I would love to hear peoples suggestions and broaden my horizons! Ideally available on switch 2
